Year 11 Shakespeares's Globe Theatre, London

The students were an absolute credit to Wadham - well behaved, respectful and engaged with everything we did.
They took part in a tour of the theatre, a drama workshop focused on Macbeth and watching the play.
It was one of the hottest days of the year and they were standing in the full glare of the sun, yet they all managed to view the majority of the play.
I think they all had a great day - the English teachers definitely did!!!

It was an absolutely fantastic production.

Awards Evening - 21.09.23

This year we had the pleasure of Guest speaker Miss Isobel Rowe (Wadham Alumni 2017) inspiring our high-achieving and hard-working students with a motivating speech and awarding a sparkling array of cups, trophies and certificates at our annual celebration of achievement, watched and supported by families, staff, Governors and the Mayor of Crewkerne, Cllr Kathy Head at St Bartholomew’s Church in Crewkerne on Thursday 21st September.

We warmly celebrated the achievement of our top KS3 and KS4 students, who were proud recipients of awards in Design and Creative Arts, Design and Technology, English, Modern Foreign languages, Humanities, Mathematics and Science.

Our Sixth Form and Special Achievement awards were enthusiastically awarded to KS5 students, many who are now taking their next steps to university and will hopefully return in the not too distant future, with encouraging stories of their own journeys into the world of work that will help to inspire the next generations of Wadham students.

We celebrated the GCSE attainment of seven high achievers this year and were delighted that Casey Young was a totally deserving recipient of the prestigious Head Teachers Award at the end of the evening.

Please remember that all cups and trophies should be returned to Wadham by Friday 3rd November to be placed in our trophy cupboard for our students and visitors to view.

Accessit- New Library System

We are really pleased to be offering all students the use of a new library system, known as Accessit. This is a forward facing system allowing them to connect with the library online. Students will be able to view the library books virtually, read peer reviews and reserve any books that appeal. Accessit will provide alternative reading suggestions and send notifications of new books for any areas of interest the students select. This is just a small list of what Accessit has to offer and moving forward students will be able to view links to resources relating to their subject areas along with trialling access to eBooks.

Accessit will be a great asset for the Key Stage 3 reading lessons, giving the students a greater facility to view and choose the perfect book.

We will look at how students can access and utilise the system both in tutor time and during reading lessons. Accessit will also be available to students outside of school through their school Microsoft login.
