As part of an educational restructure in the local area in 2022, we have welcomed over 350 new students and over 35 staff into our community and are now a secondary school of nearly 800 learners across Years 7-11. 

We are looking to expand our team with talented individuals who are passionate about learning and relish the opportunity to work in one of the most beautiful areas of South West England.

Cover Supervisor (From September 2026)

COVER SUPERVISOR

30 hours per week, term time plus INSET, 39 working weeks

8.20am – 3.00pm plus attendance at staff meetings on Mondays to 4.15pm

Salary Scale: Grade 13 Pt 6 – 11 (actual salary £18,044 - £19,539)

This position will be for a 1 year fixed term contract in the first instance

Required to start September 2026

We seek an energetic and positive individual who values young people and their learning to deliver teaching and learning planned by the class teacher with the aim of ensuring ongoing academic progress during short-term absence.

Excellent communication skills are required to liaise with teaching staff regarding the cover work set and to respond to questions from students about process and procedure, as well as dealing with immediate problems or emergencies in accordance with the school’s policies and procedures.

The successful applicant will have secure knowledge of ICT programmes such as Microsoft Teams, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook and be able to efficiently complete class registration.

School Minibus Driver (From September 2026)

SCHOOL MINIBUS DRIVER

Salary Scale: Grade 16 pt. 2 Actual salary £7,643

13 ¾ hours per week / Term time only plus 1 INSET day

HOURS TO BE WORKED OVER TWO SHIFTS 7.15AM – 8.30AM + 2.55PM – 4.25PM

We are seeking a passionate, energetic and ambitious Minibus Driver to join our expanding team of staff at Wadham School. This is an exciting opportunity for you to join our school where staff morale is high and classrooms are quiet and purposeful places where learning takes place (Ofsted 2025)

We are a close-knit community secondary school of 760 students with an amazing team of staff that support each other in helping our students become the successful and confident global citizens they deserve to be. This role would suit candidates looking to work a split shift with hours at the start and end of the day, where every day is different and you can make a difference to the students and staff, as well as the wider school community

 We are looking for an outstanding individual who will relish the opportunity to: 

  • To drive a school minibus to transport students safely to and from school
  • To take responsibility for the safety, comfort and welfare of the students
  • To take responsibility for all regular safety checks and condition of the school minibus

You are likely to be someone who: 

  • Has a full clean driving licence category D1 or category PCV
  • Has a willingness to undertake regular minibus training
  • Has 2 years driving experience and is confident in driving a minibus or similar e.g. large van

Youth Worker (In Wadham's Enhanced Social & Emotional Learning Unit) - For September 2026

Youth Worker in Wadham’s Enhanced Social & Emotional Learning Provision

37 hours per week, term time plus INSET, 39 working weeks

8.15am – 4.15pm Monday to Thursday 8.15am to 3.45pm Friday

Salary Scale: Grade 15 Pt 3 – 4 (actual salary £21,233 - £21.566)

We are seeking an energetic and positive individual, who values young people and their learning, to be involved in supporting young people within our onsite alternative provision.

Our aim is to improve the outcomes and life chances of vulnerable young people with complex needs and to help them realise their full potential.

Your work will involve supporting small groups with their academic and social emotional development. The curriculum in this provision will also provide the students with opportunities and strategies to develop personal resilience in meeting the barriers to their progress.

Experience of supporting young people with social, emotional and mental health need is essential, as is experience of a PACE or THRIVE approach to learning, experience in a school, competent use of ICT and good interpersonal skills. An awareness of the safeguarding framework in schools is desirable, although all staff will complete annual safeguarding training.
